Scorched Tundra and The Empty Bottle Present: Church of Misery (5/26/19)

Scorched Tundra is proud to announce CHURCH OF MISERY will return to Chicago on Sunday 5/26/19, performing at The Empty Bottle.  This is the first time in over five years that the Japanese doom legends return to Chicago.  Support comes from Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator and North Carolina’s Toke Tickets are available HERE.

This event – along with the recently sold-out MONOLORD show –  represents a new chapter in the history of Scorched Tundra.  Partnering with The Empty Bottle ensures we can work together to continually bring great underground talent to Chicago all year long.  Expect more to come from this devastating partnership…possibly a festival announcement in the near future?

More on Church of Misery: Church of Misery is a doom metal band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in 1995.  The bands musical style blends Black Sabbath-inspired doom, ’60s fuzzy tube-driven boogie, and psychedelic rock with lyrics focusing on serial killers and mass-murders.  Led by founding member and bassist Tatsu Mikami, Church of Misery has released six full length albums, most recently 2016’s critically acclaimed And Then There Were None… on Rise Above Records.  This marks the bands first performance in Chicago since 2013.
